Creating a Digital Signage Display for Your Center

A digital signage display placed front and center as moms, dads and grandparents walk into your center can help you communicate with both current families and potential clients. There are lots of different ways to utilize a digital display board in your lobby! This is the perfect spot to share upcoming events, cute photos and testimonials.

What to Include on your Digital Display

A large screen in your lobby can help you communicate important information with the people who walk through the door each day. Think about what you want to include and organize it in a way that makes sense to viewers. Your center may want to provide:

  • Important policies
  • Testimonials
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Center values
  • Upcoming events
  • Daily schedules
  • Pictures

How to Design Digital Lobby Signage

There are lots of different ways to create signage for your center. The easiest is using PowerPoint slides to share different messages. Add a few simple transitions between slides to make your presentation more eye-catching. Video is also an option, although it is more time consuming to create and edit. There are also specific templates available online made for sharing important information on a digital display board.

No matter how you create your signage, use fonts, colors and designs that are easy to read. The parents walking through your center during drop off, pick up and tours will be quickly glancing at the screen. Consider asking your marketing team or website designer to create a slideshow that looks like your website and the ads parents may have seen before signing up for a tour.

Casting to Your Lobby TV

For a multi-purpose digital display, we recommend using a TV. This way, you can also use the display for music or movies throughout the day. There are a few ways to connect the presentation you want to display to your TV. The most straightforward option is with an HDMI cable from a laptop to the TV. This requires a laptop you won’t need for any other reason during the day. You can also use a Chromecast device to cast from a computer to the TV. Thirdly, you can use a specialty device like Mira to turn your TV into daycare signage.
