8 Ways to Grow Your Center’s Email List

You’re starting to build an email marketing strategy that helps you stay in touch with potential clients. That’s great news! Almost 90% of Americans check their email once a day and email marketing can result in a return on investment of as much as $44 for every dollar you spend.

When your emails are ready to roll, there’s just one thing standing between you and increasing enrollment: parents to send your emails to. Growing your email list is one of the most challenging parts of email marketing. This is especially true when you first start to use email marketing.

Increase the number of parents who receive your emails with these 8 ways to jumpstart your list of email addresses.

  1. Your Contacts: Don’t send tons of emails to your personal contacts who aren’t looking for child care. You can add the families who emailed you over the last few months inquiring about child care options to your center’s email list.
  2. Your Website: When someone submits a contact form or signs up for a tour, add their email address to your list.
  3. Your Facebook Page: There are two ways to encourage signups through Facebook. You can share the link to your signup page as a post. You can also change the button under your cover photo to “Sign Up.”

  5. Local Events: When you participate in local events, set up a tablet with the Mailchimp app on your table. People can add themselves to your list! This way, you don’t have to copy email addresses from a piece of paper into Mailchimp after the event.
  6. Giveaways: Partner with other local businesses who benefit from gathering parents’ email addresses and host a giveaway. This could be a dentist, library, toy store or other local organization. In order for a parent to enter the giveaway, they’ll have to share their email address.
  7. Digital Ads: For immediate email list growth, consider running ads on Google, Facebook and other digital platforms to your signup page.
  8. Your Current Families: Some promotional messages will also apply to your current families. Make sure to keep your list of leads separate from your list of clients so you can send personalized messages.
  9. Your YouTube Account: Use CTAs throughout your video to encourage viewers to subscribe to your channel with their email address. You can also include your signup page in your video’s description.
